Why This Is Happening
A geopolitical dispute between the Dutch and Chinese governments has disrupted the supply of microchips from Nexperia, a key supplier for Honda.
This disruption has caused temporary production slowdowns and suspended shifts at Honda manufacturing plants in:
- Marysville, Ohio
- Celaya, Mexico
- East Liberty, Ohio
- Greensburg, Indiana
- Other North American facilities
With fewer chips available, Honda simply cannot produce vehicles at the normal pace — and the impact is already showing on dealership lots across the country.
Which Honda Models Are Affected?
In short: almost every model.
This includes:
- Honda CR-V
- Honda Accord
- Honda Civic
- Honda Pilot
- Honda HR-V
- Honda Passport
- Honda Odyssey
- Honda Ridgeline
- All Honda Hybrid Models
Production numbers have been reduced temporarily, meaning inventory will continue tightening throughout early 2025.
How This Impacts You as a Buyer
✔️ Lower inventory means fewer color and trim options
✔️ Vehicles sell faster and often before they arrive
✔️ Prices may increase due to reduced supply
✔️ Factory orders may take longer than usual
If you’re planning to buy a Honda soon, the safest move is to reserve or secure a vehicle early.
My Advice: Don’t Wait
This situation is not dealership-specific — it’s industry-wide and affecting all Honda retailers.
If you’ve been thinking about a CR-V, Pilot, Civic, Accord, or any hybrid model, now is the right time to reach out so I can:
- Check what is currently available
